The  “Ouimet”  (MESH PATTERN REPLICA) ball was patented by Albert Penfold of the East India Rubber Company in 1912. This pattern became the favourite of many leading professionals into the 1920s. The most famous model became the Dunlop Maxfli, first made in 1919 after Penfold was lured to Dunlop.

This 50 compression ball is approved for all classic (1900 - 1935 era) hickory golf events.  It is the 'official' approved ball for many tournaments, including the US Professional Hickory Golf Championship, the Hickory Grail and the Stableford day at the World Hickory Open.   It is also an excellent ball for use by slow to medium swing speed players with modern or classic clubs.

Really happy with the balls performance and price

I was skeptical to try the replica balls but I can't see any difference with lost distance with my irons. I'm sure you'd loose some off drives with modern drivers but thats not really the point of replica balls is it.
